Deep Down, We're The Same

about

It seems to me that some of the biggest problems in the world stem from tribalism. Our competitiveness with each other, be it nationalistic, political alignment, religious belief or anything else that focuses on our differences is making us less empathetic, less tolerant and ultimately, less progressive.

How about we start focusing on what we have in common? Why not emphasise that we are all sharing this earth and the best way to make it through is together

"I’m Tibetan, I’m Buddhist and I’m the Dalai Lama, but if I emphasise these differences it sets me apart and raises barriers with other people. What we need to do is to pay more attention to the ways in which we are the same as other people." The Dalai Lama

lyrics

Whether you’e a boy or girl
If your hair is straight or curled
Anywhere you’re in the world
From india to Spain
Let’s extend a friendly hand
To everyone across all lands
Whether accident or planned
Deep down we’re the same

Despite the different ways we look
The ways we dress, the ways we cook
Something human unites us all
(we're only human, after all)
Our differences are only small

Deep down, we’re the same
We all have different names
But we're playing the same games

No matter what school you’re enrolled
Whether you are young or old
Or the way you wear your clothes
For snow, sun or rain
Whichever language you speak at home
Know that you are not alone
No one is truly on their own cos
Deep down we’re the same

There is a flame within each heart
A bond that can’t be torn apart
Something human unites us all
(we're only human, after all)
Our differences are only small

Deep down, we’re the same
(Our bodies are our own
But we’re still just skin and bones)

If you are an only child
If you have 5 siblings, wild
If you have Granny, Step-mom
Or a mother, plain
Whether your Dad lives with you
Or your Fathers add up to two
Fosterers look after you
Deep down , we’re the same

And when the world seems cold and dark
That everything will split apart
Something common unites us all
(we're only human, after all)
Our differences are only small

Deep down we’re the same
Our voices are unique
But sound better, cheek to cheek

about

Mr. Smith London, UK

I believe that music can change the world!

In my life, I've been a one-man band, political candidate, actor, artist, father and friend.

In my most recent project, I try and make music for the young and young at heart that deals with the excitement and drama of everyday life. Above all, I also want it to be fun and good!

I hope you enjoy what my friends and I have made.
